america is more bipartisan now than it has been in years and voting independent is at this point a complete waste of a vote, politically 

“trump lost the popular vote and he still won because of the electoral college” there’s no fucking electoral college presiding over this election, and the white house isn’t going to look at the ten thousand or so people who voted independent out of 600 some million who voted democrat/republican and go “well i guess they have a point, let em have this win”
